A Study of Alkaline Phosphatase Activity in Bronchial Aspirates of Patients with Lung Cancer

Abstract
|
|
|
The alkaline phosphatase activity in bronchial aspirates obtained through bronchoscopy from a patients with lung cancer was done and the result was compared with serum activity of same patients.
The mean value of bronchial aspirate was 180±180 I. U. /L and was higher than serum level which was 88±28 IU/L.
In combination with other diagnostic procedures the measurement of alkaline phosphatase activity of bronchial aspirates may have value for the diagnosis of lung cancer.
